SEX OFFENDER!!! II

Previously, thetruth_2005 posted an article about a guy who was declared a "sex offender" just because he grabbed the arm of a 14 year old girl, half his age. At the end of his entry he asked, "If it was a 20 year old man... or if it was a BOY... would that be sexual harrassment?" I dunno, truth, let's find out. Better yet, let's switch genders:

Teen girl declared sexually dangerous
17-year-old from Eureka charged with fondling 4-year-old boy

EUREKA -- A Eureka teenager has been declared a sexually dangerous person, sending her to prison indefinitely.

Tammy L. Wheeler, 17, Eureka, agreed last week to the designation after being charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in April for allegedly fondling a 4-year-old boy.

Wheeler is the only female to join the list of 138 people in the state deemed sexually dangerous.

The original charge was a Class 2 felony that carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison. However, probation was also a possibility, said Woodford County State's Attorney Mike Stroh.

The sexually dangerous person designation will place Wheeler in the Illinois Department of Corrections for an indefinite amount of time. A prison spokesman did not return calls for comment.

"We felt this was the most appropriate path to take given all the options that were available to us," said Stroh.

To be declared a sexually dangerous person, a person must be found to suffer from a mental disorder for at least one year prior to the petition. That must also be coupled with a likelihood for committing sexual offenses.

According to court records, two psychiatrists examined Wheeler and found she suffers from chronic post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and borderline retardation. In addition, the petition says the doctors found Wheeler has a propensity toward sexual aggressiveness with children and uncontrollable sexual urges.

Stroh said he considered Wheeler's age and mental status when petitioning for the sexually dangerous person designation.

"It allows us not only to provide protection to the public -- but also provide an element of treatment for her that she would not necessarily receive if she was convicted in criminal court," said Stroh.

The Illinois Department of Corrections is now considered Wheeler's guardian, said Stroh. Her release would require a court hearing to determine if she is recovered and no longer presents a likelihood to commit sexual violations.

She fondled a 4 year old boy, just 1/4th of her age. Now THAT is sexual harassment! But hey, since it was a girl, she probably has some mental disorder, so she'll probably get a pill to take when it's all over. And I bet she won't even be labeled a sex offender. At least she's getting some jail time though (even though it probably won't be as long as if she were a man).
